The Tennessee Association for Home Care presents Security & Data Loss Prevention: How to Prepare for Ransomware & Other Cyber Attacks Webinar or Audio Recording

Date: Thursday, September 14, 2017

Time: 10:30 am to 12:00 p.m. Central Time

Description: Cybercrime is one of the top economic crimes in the world, with cost estimates soon to reach into the trillions.  Not only have victim demographics expanded from the large well known organizations to the small and mid-sized, healthcare providers are now a consistent target.  The recent ransomware attacks, and threats of more to come, have raised questions regarding security and available protection mechanisms. This webinar will provide insight on some technical safeguards to mitigate risks, we will review compliancy concerns as it relates to Emergency Preparedness and Risk Management, and the financial impact of a data breach.  It will also focus on recovery and the importance of preparing for data loss. HIPAA covered entities and business associates must know the necessary steps to take following a healthcare cyberattack. Failing to either notify overseeing agencies or properly alert patients could lead to numerous issues for an organization. Furthermore, we can show healthcare entities they cannot afford to leave their systems vulnerable for future attacks.
